Hi
That looks good! Love the engine detail. It may be worth mounting the power switch on a separate panel underneath, so that it protrudes through the top panel. That way it'll still be attached to to car if you have to take the dummy engine out for maintainance.
Best Wishes

Hmm good point I did wonder how Id remove the dummy engine panel without having difficulties with the wiring. If I mount the switch on a separate bracket arrangement on the bulkhead I can remove the dummy engine and not affect the switch.

Just noted that I havent got the rocker cover on straight. Its held down by some long wood screws which I intend to swop for stainless steel domed capped nuts / bolt, but the screws are a tad smaller than the holes in the rocker cover so its allowed the cover to squeue slightly.

Cheers

Steve

I love that little motor :D reminds me of the dummy engine in the j40 I had as a kid, well still have got ::)

I was thinking about making a dummy lump for my MB build but I expect I will have run out of interest in it by then!

Hi Steve,
Yes there is a sketch of how to make a dummy engine cover in the T2 manual. Hopefully attached is a picture of mine. I made a dummy radiator and used the Toylander bonnet catch screw to locate into it to lock it down. Underneath is hidden the High/low (4/8mph switch) and the remote control on/off switch and as you say the delicate electrics.
I got my idea for the engine from the best one I have seen on here which was made by sub6666, if you can search for that. I had to cut down the jubilee clips to make them smaller for battery connections. Am looking out for a dishwasher hose to connect the airfilter (Bisto gravy packet painted white) to the carburettor.

Regards
Mike
