low budget lights
« on: 15 June, 2010, 10:33:38 AM »
For those of us who do not have hardware stores like rest of the world, e-bay approach, enough money etc., I propose to make front lights at home.

I 've got fine small lights for my son's geepstar but , with those lights our military WWII geepstar would look like an jeepster and we don' t won't that.

I can't find nothing of 10 cm diameter for low price and low consumption.

I decided to make lights of material found in local market.

You need two pet bottles of 2,5 lit., two low price china 9 led flashlights, plexiglass, hot glue, some wire, tools and chrome spray.

Cut top of bottle to get nice round prism. Disassemble led light. You will get led module, battery pack, little spring and switch.

Now put led module in bottleneck and hot glue to bottle, solder some wire to spring and put it into the neck, put the battery pack and fix it. Protect led module and spray interior of prism with chrome. Attach this to plexi glass with glue, rubber, springs, screws . Some wiring to control dashboard, put switch from led flashlight, it look real nice.

I will show you pictures how I've done it.
