Hello each.

The donor car was a Rover 100, from this is only used the engine, gearbox and drive shafts, the two front hubs with a further pair sourced from wherever. the steering rack has to be exchanged for a LH drive version and the donor wireing loom.

The rest is kit.

You can replace the donor engine with upto the MG F 1800cc, but I stuck with the GTa 1400 of the donor as the car is plenty fast enough for my daughter with only 100BHP in my opinion.

If she want's more power, she'll have to replace it herself. ::) ;D

Brian.

Both excellent cars,
As we are showing previous projects I thought I'd add mine;

A Banham BAT, a metro GTI with a new Body.

It has to be said, that you don't have build kits cars to have the necessary skills to do a toylander, although some of the techniques are similar. It also took a fraction of the time to do the toylander, to be honest I wish I had done the toylander first. The toylander would make an excellent project for someone thinking about doing a full size kitcar. I recall a few years ago the JC midge and Locust were very similar to the toylander in that you bought full size plans and cut it out of plywood, with a custom chasis, I think that these were designed by John Cowperthwaite as well ( I may be wrong it was a long time ago)

After doing the toylander I thought that if electric power is good enough for the kids, then why not adults as well. I am now making one of these:

An MEV electric trike. 0-50 in 4 seconds I have now got it to rolling chassis stage and I am sorting out the brakes and drive at the moment.  Here's a video of a completed one

Hope to have it running by the summer and onthe road by the end of next year ( New year resolution)
