Will someone please build a tractor.
« on: 02 December, 2008, 03:11:03 PM »
Hello to who ever comes along to this site.

I can't wait to see a tractor build details on here.

I fancied building one myself but was put off by the fact that it is a solo ride on and my Grandson would want his friends to be able to join him when he's trundling around in his series two landrover.

Hope some one obliges soon.

Kindest regards,

Brian.

Hi anyone
Yes, I too am interested in the tractor and would love to hear from anyone who is building or has built one, I'm particularly interested in making it into a Fergie lookalike. The first contact I had with this site was to ask which was more suitable, but eventually decided on the Toylander. Thinking of my next model already
Regards to all builders

Hi, what details do you want to see ? I built a tractor in time for Easter this year. Great hit with my grandson. Now building a Toylander 2 as his sister is nearly big enough to ride it, and the arguments have started !

Regards, John

Hello John and welcome to the big kids forum. ;D

Any details and photo's you care to post on here of either buld would be of interest to all of us who have built or are in the process of building one of Richards creations.

It is use full to see how other people get around the various build problems and the alterations we all seem to make.

Thank you for responding, we look forward to seeing your pictures and words.  If you have not posted pictures on here befor, I find reducing the original picture to 400 X 300 pixels assures it will be able to keep below the maximum picture size restiction of the forum.

Kindest regards,

Brian.

Hi John
Likewise! I'm interested in any alterations or modifications, you've made, or just the standard build. What power plant did you use? Is it big enough for a teenager or adult?.
Best of luck with the Toylander.

Hi all
Who knows?!?!
I'm sure I typed teenager, but the Gremlins seem to have got in, no offence Patrick! I must learn to look at the screen occasionally, not just the keyboard, when typing!

Hi Guys
I've just realised what a censoredager is!
I was referring to 2 of my grandchildren who are 13 or more, but the first part "t e e n"  was censored!!

Are you trying to get around our censoring system now Walter ?

Yes you are correct about part of the word being censored, there is a list of censored words and it will as you see censor the whole word or part of.

Hello Anthony.

If as you say there is a list of censored words, and that is a good idea, would it not be better to let the forum see that the/a word has been censored.

There is a camerarderie developing on here between several of us and a bit of light banter will be an inevitable part of our comments, and replies.  This might lead to a censored word being used inadvertantly, and like the "Teen" part that has been censored leaving a nonesensical word in it's place, it would be better if the censored part was just blocked out to show that it has been removed.

I thought that with Walter being from Welsh Wales, it was some local name for something, and would never have guessed that "censored ----ager" was what he originally typed. ::) ;D

Sent in the spirit of goodwill,

regards,

 Brian.

I must say, I am at a loss to know why "Teen" is on the list. :) You must know some swear words that are not in my list of naughty words.

The problem is that some harmless words can be used for spamming reasons and so its not just swear words that are censored.
I will have a look at changing the replacement text from censored to something else.

Hi Anthony
I think its just an unfortunate but necessary part of modern life! Especially on the web. You could spend lots of time thinking about changing things and never achieve perfection! I expect you'll make changes with time but don't lose sleep over it!
I, and I am sure, many others have found this forum, useful, entertaining, and a great help in keeping the momentum going on the build, little niggles are just that; little! and they give us something to talk about, when the build is going well!
Best wishes
Keep up the good work
Walter
