Hi
I've voted for a sand, desert camoflage, colour, but anything thats easy to touch up is best.
Hope you get a clear majority!
Otherwise go to B&Q and see if they've got any reduced paint with labels missing, then it's pot luck.!
Best of luck

Thanks all for voting!!!
I have chosen the colour I had to revert to the IP DIP method as the vote was tied!
This ended up being Nato Green . I went o the Dulux tade place and managed to get a discount card too (Bonus)
I chose as best I could to the Nato Green but having put it on the Toylander at first impression it appears to be a little light, but we will have to see may have to add a darker green to the mix.

Will post a few pics when its fully painted.

Hello again,

The colour I bought from Dulux was way too light it did dry darker but was still too light a\nd looked like a park bench in Bridlington!! (Nothing against Brid went there as a child and remembered the colour of the benches).
I took the paint back and they added some darker mix to the paint took several goes and the final product is as the pic - sorry for the low quality of the pic was taken on my Iphone and the camera isn't the best.

In need of a sand and a second coat of paint then the body tub will be finished then onto the final wiring.

Thanks again for helping me choose the colour for the TL2

Adam,
I remember being at this stage a few months ago and you will surprised at how many holes you have to drill in your nicely painted body tub for wires etc so don't get too upset! It was particularly worse in my case as I wanted working indicators and have a scooter motor that needed a larger hole in the rear body sides so the jigsaw and drill have been very busy! If I built another one, I'd think more carefully about the holes that are required before painting, so I didn't have to keep sealing the edges up with mdf sealer after drilling/cutting. The dashboard requires a fairly big hole for all of the wires.

Morning all,

The lights have been fitted, the only big holes I had to cut out were for the headlights as you can see in the following pics.
The indicators and rear lights/brake lights have also been fitted. Just need to crack on and wire them all up.

Ignore the paint work it has been sanded down for a second coat.

Morning all,

My build is now complete well until I find something else to do with it (a CB radio maybe??).
Using the lights from Richard I have working indicators and hazards, head lights and side lights in the same unit (I used a resistor to cut the voltage to 6v). I have posted the video of the lights and dash board on You Tube follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBC1sz_qavg

The dash has an indicator light to tell you what lights you have put on.

This was taken prior to completion. The trim and rear door have now been added along with the handles (bumperettes).

hello mate.
is there a reason for only rounding the front part of the car and not the full sides??.

regards.

Morning Max,

The sides are rounded probably more to the front than the rear. I did the smoothing when I did the smoothing when I had the tub fully built  so wasn't as easy to do the rear. There are no sharp edges and on the rear of the tub I have pinned alu capping  so didn't bother with that part of the tub.

Hi,
Defender looks great. I have just starter my build. A question on the suspension. What are the spring and dampers from  -  they looks like quad damper - what rates are the springs ?

Thanks Tim
