Goodwood Revival
« on: 18 September, 2009, 05:49:14 PM »
Just got back from Goodwood Revival: My day foreshortened as I took my 3.5 year old. He wasn't too keen on the noise... HHHmmm what a noise - arrived as the Battle of Britain flight did it's thing.

However, I got to wondering. There's all manner of post-war vehicles dotted around the place, some used, some not, some raced. There's not a lot for kids - I went on the Friday to avoid the weekend crowds and there was a carousel and a helter skelter at ?2 a pop!!

I wonder if there's anyway we could deal with Goodwood to run S1/S2 Toylanders for the little people to have some fun in an enclosed area. They are not "period" per-se due to the internals but they are, er, period.

I was at a show at Rougham last month and there was an outfit from Bury St Edmunds doing rides etc. I would guess they might be interested but I wonder whether as a "club" we could do something.

Thoughts please? Before you say "yes please count me in"... A LOT of work for three/four days. Set up/take down.car supervision/need spare cars/accommodation/trailering there and back etc etc etc...

Sounds like a good idea to me (keep in mind that my build is only plans and brake calipers at the moment!) but I was wondering if you were thinking along the lines of giving rides or letting the little 'uns loose in them? I think that giving rides would be the only way (obviously there would be a huge danger of them being crashed otherwise :o), maybe around some kind of little course to make it more interesting?

Where abouts are you from? Rougham isn't far from me (Thetford)

All the best,
lee

Goodwood!!!

That would be a great place to have a "Toylander get together".

If a date could be sorted for next years festival, you can count me in, for turning up to display and advertise the Toylander brand,
but not sure if i'd like any" tom, dick or harry", driving Holly's (My) pride and joy. A lot of time was spent building my Landy and I'd hate to see it come to any, unnecessary harm.

who kindly let us use their track at the Newark show, do these shows for a living, and also hire out their cars for parties. So it might be worth getting  in touch with them to help organise a course for us.
